Astraea was never planned as a flower. She appeared at the workbench while I was making a traditional Zeeuwse knoop, slowly taking on a shape of her own. Much later, I came across Astrantia, a flower known in Dutch as Zeeuws knopje. The resemblance felt too fitting to ignore, and Astraea grew from there.
Here, the smallest version of the flower sits at the centre of a vermeil belcher chain. The rounded links give the necklace a little more weight around the neck, while the filigree remains light and finely detailed. A faceted amethyst sits at the centre, its soft violet bringing just enough colour to the warmth of the gold.
Even at this smaller scale, Astraea is built in two layers of filigree, with the upper layer shaped in alto relieve so the petals lift gently away from the flower beneath. That small amount of height changes the way the flower catches the light and gives the filigree a beautiful sense of depth.
The combination feels very natural: the rounded gold links, the delicacy of the filigree and that touch of violet at the centre. Astraea may be small here, but she has exactly the kind of quiet glamour that makes this necklace feel special every time you wear it.
Amazonite is particularly beautiful in these generous 10 mm faceted beads, where the stone reveals far more than a single shade of blue-green. Pale mint gives way to turquoise and softer, clouded tones, while the facets catch the light and bring out subtle differences from one bead to the next. Tiny 2 mm vermeil beads are placed between the stones, carrying delicate flashes of gold throughout the necklace.
At the centre sits Camila, her intricate filigree beautifully defined against the cool depth of the amazonite. The flower is made in the same proportions as the Camila Earrings and Ring, with every petal worked by hand. The bail is also made in filigree, allowing the fine gold work to continue above the flower and creating a natural connection with the strand of amazonite.
Part of the charm lies in the natural variation of the stones. Each bead has its own colour and markings, giving every necklace subtle differences of its own. Surrounded by those shifting blues and greens, the golden Camila seems almost sunlit, as though the flower were appearing from within the stones themselves.

A Diosa del Alma jewel can be made to reflect your personal wishes. You may have a particular gemstone in mind, be drawn to a different combination of colours or wish to make a subtle change to the design. Elizabeth will be happy to explore the possibilities with you and create a jewel that feels entirely your own.
For a special occasion, Elizabeth can also help you choose a jewel to complement what you are wearing, or design one specifically for your outfit.
As each personal commission is considered individually, you will receive a quotation before any work begins. The price will reflect your choices and the current cost of the precious metals and gemstones selected.
Astraea carries the beauty of something that was never meant to happen exactly as it did. Her story began with one idea and ended somewhere entirely different, which gives the flower a meaning that goes beyond its form.
Amethyst has long been associated with clarity, calm and balance. In Astraea, its soft violet centre brings a sense of stillness to the gold.
There is something comforting in that combination: the idea that not every beautiful direction has to be planned, and that sometimes the unexpected path is the one worth following.
Precious-metal jewellery in the Netherlands is subject to statutory hallmarking requirements above certain weight thresholds. Diosa del Alma jewels that fall below these thresholds do not require an official hallmark.
When a jewel is required to be hallmarked under Dutch law, it is independently tested and marked with an official Dutch fineness mark.
The precious metal and its fineness are always stated in the Product Details.
Many Diosa del Alma jewels are made by Elizabeth after an order is placed. These pieces usually have a production time of 4 to 8 weeks.

At Diosa del Alma, the person who imagines the jewel is also the person who makes it. Elizabeth designs and creates each piece herself, from the first idea to the moment it leaves her atelier.
This gives her the freedom to let a design evolve as she works. Proportions may shift or an unexpected detail may take the jewel in a new direction. Elizabeth enjoys leaving room for those moments rather than deciding everything in advance.
That same way of working makes personalisation a natural part of the atelier. Elizabeth can respond to individual wishes herself and shape a jewel with the person who will wear it in mind.

Becoming a goldsmith was never part of the life she had imagined for herself. Until then, her career had been in the world of fashion and luxury. She had also built her own business, before serious illness unexpectedly changed the course of her life.
Several years later, during her recovery, she began learning to make jewellery. It was initially intended to support her rehabilitation, but she quickly became absorbed by the craft itself. She went on to train further as a goldsmith, discovering a direction she could never have imagined before her illness.
