Care of your jewel

Every Diosa del Alma jewel is made by hand. The delicate nature of filigree, gold plating and natural gemstones means that each piece should be handled with care.

Keep your jewel away from water, perfume, cosmetics and skincare, and remove it before showering, swimming, sleeping or exercising. The open structure that gives filigree its characteristic lightness also makes it more delicate than solid jewellery and more vulnerable to pressure and knocks.

For gold-plated pieces, avoid silver polishing cloths and other polishing products, as these can gradually wear away the gold layer. Every jewel comes with a soft, untreated care cloth that can be used to gently wipe the surface after wear.

Even with careful wear, gold plating may gradually show signs of wear over time. Many pieces can be replated when needed. Whether this is possible depends on the design, the gemstones used and the condition of the jewel. The cost will depend on the piece and the thickness of the new gold layer.

Your jewel can also be professionally cleaned by Diosa del Alma at no charge. You only cover the shipping costs to and from the atelier.

Storing Your Jewel

Every jewel comes in a jewellery box with a reusable, light-resistant PE pouch and an anti-tarnish strip.

After wearing your jewel, make sure it is clean and dry before placing it inside the PE pouch and sealing it well. This helps limit exposure to air, moisture and other external influences. It is particularly important for gold-plated jewellery, as these can affect both the precious metal beneath and the gold layer over time.

Place the sealed pouch back inside its jewellery box. Stored in this way, your jewel remains protected from air, moisture and light until the next time you wear it.
