Camila began as a single filigree flower, named after someone very dear to me. The design would later grow into a collection of its own, with Bloom and Blossom exploring the flower on a larger scale. I still love Camila in these original proportions. There is something particularly beautiful about seeing so much detail held within one flower.

Each petal is made separately and filled with tiny filigree elements that are shaped by hand, carefully placed and soldered one by one. The centre is formed from dozens of individual granules, each made and soldered separately. Much of what makes Camila so special is found in these details, some only a few millimetres in size. It is when you look closely that you begin to see just how much work goes into each flower.

For all that detail, the earrings are remarkably light. The open structure of the filigree gives the flower depth and presence without becoming heavy on the ear. Camila was made to be worn throughout the day, and to feel just as right in the evening. That has always been important to me: a beautifully made jewel should not have to spend most of its life waiting for an occasion.

Camila is a piece to wear often, with craftsmanship you continue to discover every time you look at her closely.

From First Idea to Final Detail

At Diosa del Alma, the person who imagines the jewel is also the person who makes it. Elizabeth designs and creates each piece herself, from the first idea to the moment it leaves her atelier.

This gives her the freedom to let a design evolve as she works. Proportions may shift or an unexpected detail may take the jewel in a new direction. Elizabeth enjoys leaving room for those moments rather than deciding everything in advance.

That same way of working makes personalisation a natural part of the atelier. Elizabeth can respond to individual wishes herself and shape a jewel with the person who will wear it in mind.

Elizabeth

Becoming a goldsmith was never part of the life she had imagined for herself. Until then, her career had been in the world of fashion and luxury. She had also built her own business, before serious illness unexpectedly changed the course of her life.

Several years later, during her recovery, she began learning to make jewellery. It was initially intended to support her rehabilitation, but she quickly became absorbed by the craft itself. She went on to train further as a goldsmith, discovering a direction she could never have imagined before her illness.
