Some of the designs in the collection are named after women who are close to me. Margarita and Camila are mother and daughter in my family, and that connection finds its way into their pieces, each becoming a flower in her own right.

Margarita also brought with her an unexpected discovery. In Spanish, the name belongs to the flower that inspired the design, but its history reaches much further back to the Greek margaritēs, meaning pearl. I loved finding that small connection to the world of jewellery hidden within a name that had already meant something to me for years.

For the Cascade, I wanted to give the flower movement. A faceted 4 mm peridot sits at its centre, while fine chains fall below in long strands of faceted lapis lazuli, peridot and amethyst beads. As the earrings move, the stones move with them, catching the light and revealing flashes of blue, green and violet against the gold.

The Cascade is detachable, leaving the Margarita stud to be worn on its own. The stud is also available separately.

Colour is an important part of this version, but the combination does not have to remain exactly as it was designed. The gemstones can be personalised, and I am always happy to help choose a palette around colours you love, something you are wearing, or an occasion you have in mind

From First Idea to Final Detail

At Diosa del Alma, the person who imagines the jewel is also the person who makes it. Elizabeth designs and creates each piece herself, from the first idea to the moment it leaves her atelier.

This gives her the freedom to let a design evolve as she works. Proportions may shift or an unexpected detail may take the jewel in a new direction. Elizabeth enjoys leaving room for those moments rather than deciding everything in advance.

That same way of working makes personalisation a natural part of the atelier. Elizabeth can respond to individual wishes herself and shape a jewel with the person who will wear it in mind.

Elizabeth

Becoming a goldsmith was never part of the life she had imagined for herself. Until then, her career had been in the world of fashion and luxury. She had also built her own business, before serious illness unexpectedly changed the course of her life.

Several years later, during her recovery, she began learning to make jewellery. It was initially intended to support her rehabilitation, but she quickly became absorbed by the craft itself. She went on to train further as a goldsmith, discovering a direction she could never have imagined before her illness.
