Margarita Petite began with a detail that was already there. The heart of the original Margarita had such a beautiful shape of its own that it felt natural to let it become a jewel in its own right. The rounded petals and fine filigree still belong unmistakably to Margarita, a name that comes from the Colombian side of the family and has been part of this design from the beginning.

The flower is made petal by petal. Fine filigree wire is shaped, placed and soldered by hand, then the different layers are raised in alto relieve. This is what gives Margarita her depth. From the side, the petals gently rise above one another; from the front, light moves between the layers of gold. At the centre sits a faceted amethyst, deep violet against the warmth of the gold. It is a small flower, but one that reveals more the closer you look.

A hand dyed and hand rolled silk cord completes the necklace. Made by an artisan who specialises in silk, it brings softness around the neck while keeping the filigree flower at the centre of attention. Almost any colour can be created on request, making it possible to choose a shade that feels entirely personal. Against the skin, silk, gold and amethyst come together beautifully.

From First Idea to Final Detail

At Diosa del Alma, the person who imagines the jewel is also the person who makes it. Elizabeth designs and creates each piece herself, from the first idea to the moment it leaves her atelier.

This gives her the freedom to let a design evolve as she works. Proportions may shift or an unexpected detail may take the jewel in a new direction. Elizabeth enjoys leaving room for those moments rather than deciding everything in advance.

That same way of working makes personalisation a natural part of the atelier. Elizabeth can respond to individual wishes herself and shape a jewel with the person who will wear it in mind.

Elizabeth

Becoming a goldsmith was never part of the life she had imagined for herself. Until then, her career had been in the world of fashion and luxury. She had also built her own business, before serious illness unexpectedly changed the course of her life.

Several years later, during her recovery, she began learning to make jewellery. It was initially intended to support her rehabilitation, but she quickly became absorbed by the craft itself. She went on to train further as a goldsmith, discovering a direction she could never have imagined before her illness.
