Rosalia Petite was created with my daughter in mind. The smaller version keeps the character and intricate filigree of the original Rosalia, but brings the flower into a scale that can be shared across generations. A mother and daughter, or a grandmother and granddaughter, can wear the same design in two different sizes, each with her own jewel.

Much of Rosalia’s beauty is found in the filigree itself. Within the petals, jalado and ramales come together, two distinct fillings from the Momposina filigree tradition. Exceptionally fine wire is shaped by hand, placed carefully within each petal and then soldered into the flower. Seen up close, the two patterns create a richness of line and detail that gives Rosalia her unmistakable character.

At the centre of each flower sits a faceted Madagascan rubellite from Mara Gems. Its vivid pink has a beautiful depth against the warm gold, drawing the eye naturally towards the heart of Rosalia. These studs were designed as the companion earrings to the Rosalia Petite Opal Necklace, where the same rubellite appears among the shifting colour and light of Ethiopian opal. Worn together, necklace and studs form a set, united by the Rosalia flower, the rubellite and the fine filigree work.

The Rosalia Petite flower can also be made as a ring or brooch on request, allowing the same design to return in different jewels.

From First Idea to Final Detail

At Diosa del Alma, the person who imagines the jewel is also the person who makes it. Elizabeth designs and creates each piece herself, from the first idea to the moment it leaves her atelier.

This gives her the freedom to let a design evolve as she works. Proportions may shift or an unexpected detail may take the jewel in a new direction. Elizabeth enjoys leaving room for those moments rather than deciding everything in advance.

That same way of working makes personalisation a natural part of the atelier. Elizabeth can respond to individual wishes herself and shape a jewel with the person who will wear it in mind.

Elizabeth

Becoming a goldsmith was never part of the life she had imagined for herself. Until then, her career had been in the world of fashion and luxury. She had also built her own business, before serious illness unexpectedly changed the course of her life.

Several years later, during her recovery, she began learning to make jewellery. It was initially intended to support her rehabilitation, but she quickly became absorbed by the craft itself. She went on to train further as a goldsmith, discovering a direction she could never have imagined before her illness.
