Rosalia has a naturally romantic character, but in this version it is the centre of the flower that makes the piece so distinctive. In place of a gemstone sits a small tomatillo, formed entirely from fine filigree wire. It is a tiny detail, yet one that immediately draws the eye. Its rounded shape gives the flower depth, while the workmanship becomes more apparent the closer you look.

The tomatillo has a long place within the Momposina filigree tradition. In Mompox, goldsmiths have worked with exceptionally fine wire for generations, creating forms that demand both precision and control. These were techniques I learned during my training in Colombia, and the tomatillo has remained closely connected to that experience ever since. In Rosalia, it feels especially fitting at the very heart of the flower.

The bracelet is finished with a cord of 100% silk, adding softness and colour to the gold. The silk can be made in different shades, from quiet and understated to much more expressive. Each colour gives Rosalia a slightly different mood, while the golden flower and its filigree centre remain the focus.

From First Idea to Final Detail

At Diosa del Alma, the person who imagines the jewel is also the person who makes it. Elizabeth designs and creates each piece herself, from the first idea to the moment it leaves her atelier.

This gives her the freedom to let a design evolve as she works. Proportions may shift or an unexpected detail may take the jewel in a new direction. Elizabeth enjoys leaving room for those moments rather than deciding everything in advance.

That same way of working makes personalisation a natural part of the atelier. Elizabeth can respond to individual wishes herself and shape a jewel with the person who will wear it in mind.

Elizabeth

Becoming a goldsmith was never part of the life she had imagined for herself. Until then, her career had been in the world of fashion and luxury. She had also built her own business, before serious illness unexpectedly changed the course of her life.

Several years later, during her recovery, she began learning to make jewellery. It was initially intended to support her rehabilitation, but she quickly became absorbed by the craft itself. She went on to train further as a goldsmith, discovering a direction she could never have imagined before her illness.
