Lily began with six finely pointed petals. As the first flower slowly took shape in filigree, the resemblance to a lily became unmistakable and the name followed naturally. Its small scale makes the workmanship especially fine. Each petal is formed individually and filled using the jalado technique, with delicate filigree wire placed carefully within its outline before the flower is soldered by hand. At the centre, a faceted rubellite from Mara Gems, originating from Madagascar, brings a vivid flash of pink to the warmth of the gold.

That colour continues into the silk. The cord is hand dyed and finished by an artisan who specialises in working with silk, and for this Lily the shade was chosen to sit beautifully alongside the rubellite. Because each cord is made individually, almost any colour can be created, making it possible to bring gemstone and silk together in a completely different combination while keeping the little filigree flower at the heart of the piece.

Lily can also be made to order in solid 18K gold, with a gemstone and silk colour chosen especially for the bracelet. The attention to detail continues all the way to the back, where a second small faceted rubellite hangs from the adjustable extension chain. As the bracelet moves around the wrist, that little stone appears between the links, quietly bringing the colour from the centre of Lily back once more.

From First Idea to Final Detail

At Diosa del Alma, the person who imagines the jewel is also the person who makes it. Elizabeth designs and creates each piece herself, from the first idea to the moment it leaves her atelier.

This gives her the freedom to let a design evolve as she works. Proportions may shift or an unexpected detail may take the jewel in a new direction. Elizabeth enjoys leaving room for those moments rather than deciding everything in advance.

That same way of working makes personalisation a natural part of the atelier. Elizabeth can respond to individual wishes herself and shape a jewel with the person who will wear it in mind.

Elizabeth

Becoming a goldsmith was never part of the life she had imagined for herself. Until then, her career had been in the world of fashion and luxury. She had also built her own business, before serious illness unexpectedly changed the course of her life.

Several years later, during her recovery, she began learning to make jewellery. It was initially intended to support her rehabilitation, but she quickly became absorbed by the craft itself. She went on to train further as a goldsmith, discovering a direction she could never have imagined before her illness.
